Skipton that is located in North Yorkshire is considered a civil parish as well as a historic market town that is located in the North Yorkshire district in England and is a very popular tourist resort and is a convenient base of operations for the people that visit it for the Yorkshire Dales. Skipton has a population of about 15,000 people and enjoys an extensive heritage and culture.

While in Skipton you can visit the famous Skipton Little Theatre which is located in the town centre, or rather near it, or you can also visit the Mart Theatre which is an unusual venue that opened back in the month of October in the year 2005, and was funded by the European Regional Development Fund and it provides a rural theatre for people and events as well as other facilities.

If you are interested in the night life that Skipton has to offer, you are in luck because Skipton offers many pubs in its vicinity, as well as two nightclubs as well as many restaurants that offer traditional dishes such as fish and chips and up to restaurants that offer a lot of dishes from the high class French cuisine, as well as many other modern cooking styles, which include the British, Mexican, Indian, Greek, Chinese and Italian.

If you are worried about transportation, don't be, because Skipton is close to the junction of the A65 road which takes people from Leeds up to the Lake district and you can also take the A59 which goes from York to Liverpool, so you can reach Skipton from various locations by car or by a rental car, and you can continue from it to other cities and towns of interest, which is great for you if you are on a business trip or if you are selling door to door, or if you just want to get as much out of the vacation time you have, it's great for you.

You can also take several other routes with your car that take you to Skipton and many other places, or you can opt for a train and take it from the Skipton railway station and it will take you to and from Leeds, Bradford, Lancaster, Morecambe and Carlisle, from which you can also reach Skipton with the same line.

If you arrive from Carlisle you will take a route that is along the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway line which has a scenic route for you to enjoy.

You can also take the Leeds and Liverpool Canal which goes through the centre of Skipton and is a popular place to be in for tourists which can either choose to walk or to hire a boat and go on a cruise. You can also take a bus from the bus station that was rebuilt in the year 2009.

While in Skipton you might also want to enjoy various attractions, such as the May Boat festival or you can choose from many other activities and sporting events.
