Other accommodation near Saundersfoot

Saundersfoot was once a tiny fishing village that dabbled in shipbuilding. Then came the black gold rush in the 1800s that boosted Saundersfoot into popularity for its abundance of anthracite. This highly demanded coal lead to the build of a new harbor and railway in 1829. The railway would ship the coal to the harbor from six area mines.

After the boom of the black gold rush began to ware off and moved to other areas of the UK plus elsewhere, Saunderfoot survived by becoming a popular destination for tourist. Today it has become one of Wales most visited resorts along with the nearby town of Tenby just 3 miles away. The area has a magnificent supply of clean countryside and scenery. It also has superb shopping and recreational activities to offer. The fish market and local butcher have achieved many awards. They sell the freshest and best lamb in all of Wales and are a must see for every tourist.

This is one of the most visited tourist resorts in Wales along with its equally if not more popular neighbour, the town of Tenby, some 3 miles away. The countryside and scenery is fabulous and the shopping and recreational facilities superb. Be sure to visit the fish market and the local butcher who have won several awards and sells the freshest and most succulent Welsh lamb that you will ever come across.

Saundersfoot is well known for it Christmas Market, a huge annual event with activities that will appeal to the entire family. During this time the city is transformed into a winter wonderland filled with festive activities. Unlike in the past the event is now held completely covered and has a heated marquee on the harbor that has a variety of food, drinks, crafts and gifts in its 50 booths. There is plenty of Pembrokeshire product to enjoy and purchase. There are many other tasty things to eat that will push away the winter cold that includes mulled wine, crepes and Christmas carvery. The lively event is held for three days over the first weekend in December.
