Newquay or as it is known in local language Tewynn Pleustri/Towan Blystra) in Cornwall is seaside resort and a fishing port on the Atlantic coast. It is close to the furthest point south and west in Britain. There is a small train station which runs a rail line to Par, a small village on the English channel about 40 km away. This means you can easily be on the Atlantic coast one hour and the next hour you can be on the English Channel. There is an excellent local bus service and National Express runs bus services to many parts of the UK. The Newquay Cornwall airport is just around the corner and offers flights to other British locations on a regular basis.

Newquay has become the hotspot when it comes to Hen and Stag parties and night clubs like Berties and Sailor's as well as Pure attract very well known English and European Dj's.

The main reason why Newquay attracts thousands of visitors every year, however, is the surfing. It is called the surfing capital of Britain and this is all on merit. Fistral Beach is the best beach break in Cornwall. It is famed for producing powerful, hollow waves and seems to hold a good sized swell. Because of this it has been host to major surfing competitions for over 20 years.
