The lovely and charming town of Dunstable exemplifies the best that England has to offer in terms of picturesque beauty and fantastic atmosphere. With a population of thirty three thousand, nobody will be mistaking Dunstable for a petty hamlet any time soon and it helps to know that Dunstable is a mere thirty miles from the booming and bustling metropolis of London. Thus, one could easily assume that Dunstable is at best a pretty suburb of one of the greatest cities ever created. This would be quite the disservice, though, because Dunstable has plenty to offer aside from its proximity to a massive cultural epicenter. For one, Dunstable is very old and it has a rich and beautiful history. Dunstable also has some unique and fascinating aspects about its geography including gorgeous, steep chalk cliffs that tower magnificently to the sky.

Dunstable is also very near the wonderfully picturesque Chiltern Hills. These hills are great for hikers, photographers, or anybody who appreciates natural beauty in general. It is little wonder that people have been attracted to this lovely slice of land for so long. Whereas most towns and cities in England are definitely quite old, Dunstable has an edge on the vast majority of these towns. Some cities brag that they date back to the days of Saxon lords while even older towns claim to have origins in the Roman Empire. Dunstable, though, dates all the way back to the Paleolithic Era! Throughout the years countless relics from the cave man days have been uncovered in Dunstable. Recently the town uncovered several flint tools that had been used thousands of years ago. There is no word on whether or not the diggers found a crude car that used the drivers feet as a form of propulsion, though.

Dunstable was of course not the town that it is today back then. Even during the Iron Age it was the site of a crude fort and thus was home to soldiers or tribes mainly. At any rate it still predated the Roman Empire and when it finally did get swallowed up by the massive forces it already had its own identity. Dunstable of course was then prettied up with the typical Roman roads and buildings that had been implemented in every town worth improving. From then on Dunstable went on to follow the route that was typical in those days. It fell under Saxon control and saw its share of violence as Edward I finally began to create what would truly be an English nation. Though Dunstable is quite English in its demeanor, it is important to remember that the town truly belongs to the great ancestors of all of us thousands of years back and no amount of roads or buildings can take away the long and rich history that this fantastic town holds under its soil. The bones of the fathers and mothers of England lay beneath Dunkirk and as such we should hold the town in nothing but the highest esteem.
