Cricciet, which is also called Cricieth - in the Welsh language, is a small community that is considered to be a town, and is located in Cardigan Bay in the Eifonydd - which is situated in the area of Gwynedd, in Wales. The town is considered to be a seaside resort, and is a very popular attraction for older people who retired from their job and want to seek a nice place to spend the rest of their time in.
Cricciet is located near various other attractions and cities, which include Porthmados, which is 5 miles or 8 kilometres to the west of the town, Pwllheli, which is 9 miles (or 14 kilometres) away, and Caernarfon, which is about 17 miles away - or about 27 kilometres away.
Criccieth is a very small town with a population of less than 2,000 people, yet it has a lot of different fairs that are held within in - like the ones held in the 23rd of May and in the 29th of June each year, consecutively.
In 2003 the town officially received the Fair-trade Town status, and has won the Wales in Bloom competition between 1999 and 2004 - it won during each year.
When visiting Criccieth you might want to visit the local attractions, which include the Criccieth Castle, which dominates the skyline of this small town. the castle overlooks the famous Cardigan Bay. Sadly not a lot of the original building survived, but the outer walls are still there and offer a nice look into the old architecture that characterized the town when it first started - several centuries ago.
You can also visit the famous Lifeboat Station which stands in Lon Felin ans was built as early as 1854, and still stands to this day. You can easily reach it by walking to it or by driving to it, since it is a part of town. The station is manned by volunteers - currently about seventeen of them.
You can also visit the West Parade where a shelter stands, that was donated by a former prime minister's wife. Other attractions in this small town include the Muriau which are a group of farm houses from the 17th century, who are located in the Lon Fel.
You can also enjoy the local culture the town has to offer while visiting it, which includes the Memorial Hall, which is a hall where a lot of concerts are being held, and plays are being shown in - mainly dramas.
You can also visit the Lion Hotel and stay in it. The Lion Hotel is a hotel that was built on the Y Maes during 1731, and is still standing to this day. There are other hotels that are still standing that date to the year 1811 - such as the Marine hotel that is located in Min-y-Mor, and the Caerwylan hotel that is located in Min-y-Traeth.
As far as transportation goes - you have several ways in which you can get to the town and cruise around it. Those ways include the roads - the A497, the A487 and several more, and the local trains.
