Just over thirty miles south of London, betwixt the M3 and M4 motorways, is the busy town of Camberley. With several bustling train and bus lines, Camberley is filled with residents who are rushing to and fro, always ready for the next exciting event that may occur in the city. Few places are as dedicated to the happiness of its citizens as Camberley and evidence of this can be found everywhere you turn.
In the Main Square, residents and tourists alike can wander the vast reaches of Camberley's town center and peruse the many world-famous shops, restaurants, and boutiques. The well known shopping center "The Mall" is also found within the Main Square and it is one of the largest of its kind in England, boasting big name retailers like House of Fraser. In the center of the massive downtown shopping arena, atop the Primark building, is an enormous clock that looms above the thousands of shoppers strolling through High Street and Princess Way.
Education is part of the Camberley as well, and the many fine schools that permeate the city make that fact known with eloquence. Collingwood College, with over two thousand students, is among the largest schools in Surry and Kings International College is not far behind with its massive Hockey program that regularly draws the top student athletes in the sport. Lyndhurst School is also in Camberley and has been operating for over one hundred years, making it one of the oldest consistently operating prep schools on Earth.
Camberley also has a reputation for providing topnotch entertainment for its citizens as well. The Camberley Theatre is the home for the many quality performances put on by local companies and the recently opened Arena is a state of the art stadium with an Olympic size pool within its grounds. Unfortunately, the city had only one movie theater, the Robin's Cinema, and this building burned down recently. This was seen as a black mark on Camberley's reputation for always delivering consistent pleasure to its citizens and the city responded by quickly setting about plans for a new, deluxe town square that would provide even more thrills for a hungry population. The Atrium officially opened in 2008 and now offers residents of the city a top of the line nine-theatre cinema as well as a brand new bowling alley and a gorgeous shopping district. Several premium apartment complexes were built in The Atrium as well and these spacious villas overlook the incredible Main Square and its vast array of decadent shops. Another movie theater, even more deluxe than the one currently in service, is set to open and many more retailers are adding on to the already expansive center, creating one of the most sought after town centers in all of Surrey. Though Camberley is clearly dedicated to its citizens and their happiness, rest assured that the city is equally friendly to all who commute in from the many stations and airports to share in the excitement of a Camberley downtown day. If only all cities were this accommodating and inviting.
