Andover, which is a town in the English county in England, is located in the Hampshire county and is close to the Anton river, and is just a few dozen miles from places like Basingstoke or Winchester, which makes it an ideal place to stay in while visiting friends and family, or taking a vacation. Andover is also ideal for people who want to see as much as possible, but don't want to be tied down to one location - they want to be able to travel throughout the city and exchange hotels in a heartbeat, so they will be closest to a place that interests them - so they won't have to walk very far. It is also ideal for people who want to be able to quickly reach various locations around the town, and sleep in them without being committed to one location and hotel.
Andover is famous for the many watermills in its area, which played a big part in its development and history. Watermills have been in use in Andover as early as the year 1086, when at least 11 mills were running in the town.
You can still visit those mills, such as the Rooksbury Mill, which is one of the few surviving ones in the entire area of Andover. Rooksbury Mill isn't one of the older mills, but it was built around the 17th century and served as a flour mill, which changed many different hands throughout history.
After the flour milling stopped going on in the town, the milling buildings started having many different uses - such as being theaters for small crowds, and more.
Some of the mills in the area suffered from fires, but were rebuilt and reconstructed, to preserve the old structure's style.
Andover also boasts being the birth place and residency of many different people who had a big impact on the history of the world. Those people include Bigel Spackman who was a local football player, that started in Andover but moved to the AFC Bournemouth team, in which he had a successful career. He is famous for winning the English League Championship when he played for Liverpool.
Bill Rawlings is another football player that started his career in the Andover football club, but moved on to Southampton back in the year 1919, and had a successful football career, in which he appeared in the league 327 times and had 175 goals.
Also, while staying in Andover you might want to enjoy the local sports events, such as the local football and cricket games. You can watch the local Andover Cricket Club play in the Southern Premier Cricket League, or you can watch the various football teams play - such as the Andover Football Club, and many other types of sport games and teams.
